Bad service in a bar/ cafe /hotel etc, how do you overcome the problems?

we as forigners in Thailand, get what we think as bad service, whowever if all Thai people went to say UK or europe they would feel the same,
we have all had they same, you walk into a bar and the conversation goes like this,
waitress    "would you like a drink"
me            "hieniken kap"
waitress    "tiger?"
me           "no, hieniken kap"
waitress    "singh?"
me           " NO i want a Hieniken"
waitress   "oh, hieniken?"
me          "yes hieniken thats what i said"
waitress  "ahh, sorry, sorry"
then, a Tiger beer turns up????? wtf????????????
if ya dont start laughing then, ya gonna have a bad day so ya might as well start to giggle and drink the tiger!
to help on occasions like this i tend to go back to my youth and remember the one and only.
